I'm in trouble.

Heaven help me when this baby girl gets old enough to put mascara on those beautiful, ridiculously long, eye lashes.

I think I might need to lock her in a tall tower like Rapunzel until after her teenage years are over.

Baby Girl Update

My bags are packed.

My fridge and diaper supply are fully stocked.

My house is [mostly] clean.

My stomach is stretched to the MAX.  Seriously.

Sleeping is very uncomfortable these days.  Correction: Walking/standing/sitting/bending down/everything is very uncomfortable these days.

I am growing out of my maternity shirts.

It's time for this baby girl to make her debut.

I've been having lots of contractions (some quite painful) but not on a regular basis.

I am scheduled for a C-section a week from Monday, but I am hoping/praying that she'll make her debut sooner than that.

I am ready to meet my daughter.

Baby Girl

I got to have a 3D ultrasound of my little girl last week! It was so much fun to see her face!  I think she looks similar to Owen, but maybe a little less like Rick and more like me. :)  We can't wait to meet our baby girl!

Let the Shopping Begin!

Yesterday I had the big ultrasound.  Rick and Owen came with me.  My stomach was in knots the whole night before and all morning.  I was so nervous and excited to find out what we are having!  On the one hand, I thought it would be fun for Owen to have a little brother and since they will be sharing a room, another boy would make decorating really easy.  On the other hand, I thought it would be really fun to have a girl because 1.) I love all things girly, and 2.) she already has 3 girl cousins who are going to be her same age, so I thought it would be fun for her to be included in that girl group.

I have had several dreams this pregnancy that I was going to have a girl, but I didn't want to get my heart set on that if I was going to in fact have a boy.

The ultrasound technician was really nice and she asked Owen if he thought the baby was a boy or a girl.  She said that the siblings always seem to get it right.  Owen said he thought it was a girl baby.  After a minute of looking at the screen, the technician said,

"Well that was a good guess! You're going to have a sister!"

Rick and I are really excited! We went to lunch at Ruby's to celebrate, and then we got a cake from Creative Cakery to make the big announcement to our families.  We all gathered at my mom's house and we had Grandpa Henry open a bakery box to find this:

Everyone is so excited that another little girl will be joining the family!  Let the shopping begin!
