My New Love

On Friday I finished my FINAL final - Wahoo! So now - pending I pass all of my classes - I am a college graduate! The reality of that statement hasn't fully hit me yet. I began the celebration by getting a mani/pedi on Thursday afternoon. It feels so nice to have cute toes again! Then on Friday after my final Rick and I went out to lunch before I went to work. On Saturday we went to the Guitar Center where I fell in love. I've been wanting a piano since - well, always - and for a graduation gift, Rick and I decided to get a full-size keyboard. We'd done some research online and had an idea of what we wanted to get. When we got to the store, we saw this beautiful digital piano. AND to top it all off - it was 1/2 off the original price, making it within our price range! Wahoo! We jumped on the deal and bought it. Here is my new love.

It has 88 weighted keys, records music, plays back music, has different instrument settings, plus a bunch of other stuff that I haven't read about yet in the manual. it is SO wonderful to have a piano in my own home. I've missed it so much!

We went a little wild and bought Rick's graduation present (a year early) since there was an incredible deal going on. His new muse is learning to play the guitar, and he's getting quite good. So, he bought a classical guitar. I don't have a picture of it yet, but it is quite beautiful.

After hitting the Guitar Center, we went with Rick's family to see the new Indiana Jones. I've heard mixed reviews of the movie, but I really liked it. For those who haven't seen it, I won't spoil it. It was different than the other three, but I felt it gave good closure to the whole series.

Like Father, Like Son

Today I got to have a 3D ultrasound for FREE! Loretta (Rick's mom)has a friend who knew a place in Cypress where they train ultrasound technicians. Apparently the place we went to - Medison America - invented the 3D ultrasound. How it works is you call them and leave your info.. Then they call you when they're having a seminar to come in. Rick unfortuntely had two finals today during the time of the seminar, so I went with my mom and Loretta. We ended up waiting an hour because another pregnant lady was late getting there. I was getting a little nervous because I had to take a final at 3:30. The appointment was supposed to last from 1:30 - 2:30, but we didn't get started until 2:30 p.m. Luckily my technician was really nice and sped things along.

We've decided that Owen already looks like a mini-Rick. I think he definitely has Rick's lips. I'll post a baby pic or two of Rick so you can all compare for yourself.
Here is Owen with his feet by his face... (and there's not a hole in his head - the technician was pressing hard on my stomach and it made a dark mark on the screen)

Here is Owen with his eyes open...

Here is a baby pic of Rick.

That mouth looks familiar, eh?

We also went to the OB yesterday for our regular checkup. I'm only 24 weeks, but yesterday I was measuring to be 26 1/2 weeks... The doctor said it's nothing to worry about - we're just going to have a big boy! Nothing to worry about - easy for him to say. We'll see if his size levels off. My mom said she measured big when she was pregnant with me, and I was only 7 lbs. Then again, Rick was 9 lbs. I guess we'll see!

Let the countdown begin...

It's official. In exactly two weeks I will be a college graduate. I cannot believe that the end is finally in sight! I don't think I can wrap my brain around the whole concept of not ever having to write another paper or take another test again. I don't think it'll actually hit me that I'm done with school until the fall when I don't go to classes. I just have to get through one week of classes and then finals. I'm starting to get really excited and feel like doing this:

I'm already putting a list together of things I want to do as a non-student. Here's a few:

1.) Read the Twilight book series
2.) Decorate a dresser of drawers for Owen's room
3.) Clean out my car - especially my trunk. I don't know half the things that are in there right now.
4.) Organize the kitchen.
5.) Actually cook a meal for dinner most nights.

Now all I have to do is stay focused so I can do well on my finals.....

P.S. Just for Marie I've added a slideshow of wedding pics at the bottom of the page. Enjoy!
