Big Brother

Owen has accepted the news of a new baby coming.  I explained to him that there is a tiny baby in my tummy and when it gets bigger, it will come out and play with Owen.  I wasn't really sure if he'd quite understand what was going on, but there have been several instances that prove he has a pretty good grasp on the situation.

#1:  He will often look at me, and then my stomach, and say, "Get bigger, bigger, bigger and then come out play with Owen!"  He gestures using his hands, starting by making a tiny circle and then moving them further and further apart.  He also sometimes replaces the word "bigger" with "taller".

#2: One afternoon he went to his toy box, pulled out a baseball, brought it to my stomach, and said, "Here go, baby."

#3: I was lying in bed (I spend most of my time there these days) and Owen was sitting next to me.  He gently put laid his head on my stomach, gave it a soft pat, and said, "Hi there, little baby."

#4: Another time when I was lying in bed, Owen again gently laid his head on my stomach, gave it another pat and said, "Baby!  Want to come over?"

#5: This morning Owen and I were standing in the kitchen.  Owen noticed my growing stomach (it's getting very hard to hide now) and he said, "Oh!  Getting big!  Baby come out now??!!"

I can't wait for Owen to meet this little baby.  I know he is going to be such a good big brother.

Spring is in the air....

and that means that BABIES are coming! (yes, I said babieS)

We are pregnant!  We couldn't be more thrilled to begin the journey to bring child #2 into the world!

I've been pretty sick, although I haven't had to go to the emergency room yet, so I'd say that's a step up from pregnancy #1.  I'm hoping that in a few weeks the sickness will start to taper off.  My official due date is Nov. 14th.  However, since this will be a repeat c-section, we will schedule it a week early, around Nov. 7th.  I have a feeling that this one's a girl, but we'll have to wait and see!

Now, back to babies.

My sister Michelle is pregnant and due Nov. 17th!

And my sister-in-law Rachael is pregnant and due July 2nd.

This Thanksgiving there are going to be A LOT of babies and we are so excited that our little one will have so many cousins his/her age!

The Wedding

Unfortunately on the day of Julie and Mark's wedding I was a bit under the weather, so I didn't get very many pictures.  The few that I did get were only of Owen and NONE of the bride.  :(  Oh well.  Owen looks pretty darn cute.

Bridal Showers

My sister JULIE got married in March.  Naturally, we had a few bridal showers to get her ready for her big day.  Here are some pictures from different events leading up to the wedding.

No More Diapers!

Owen is now fully potty trained!  Wahoo!  We are SUPER excited to have a break from changing diapers and Owen is SUPER excited to go potty "all by [him]self".  It took a lot of bribing and cheering, but on the whole, the process went very smoothly.  The process was expedited when he had a cut on his leg and accidentally wet his pants.  It must have stung quite a bit, because he did not have one accident after that.

Here is he is when he finally earned his giant Mickey Mouse Lollipop for pooping on the potty.  He was so excited when he finally did it.

His favorite underwear to sport include Batman, Mickey Mouse, and Lightening McQueen.
I must also note that he has not wet his pull-up during the night for about a month.  He is doing so great and we are so proud of him!

Yay, Owen!

MIA

I've been MIA from the blogging world for a month, now.  That's mostly because we moved and don't have internet at our place. There's a ton of catching up to do....showers, potty training, weddings...I'll try to document it all.  It's been a busy month.
