So Rick was in class the other day and his professor was lecturing with a powerpoint presentation. Rick was following along with the lecture when to his surprise, this picture popped up in the screen.
He started started laughing because he thought one of the guys looked kinda like him. It reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld where George finds a doll that looks exactly like his mother. (Although not quite as dead-on.)
Can you find Rick in the picture?
Hint: It helps to look from a distance.

One Month Old
Yesterday Owen turned one month old! I can't believe he's already been here that long. Time is flying by quickly. I've taken lots of cute pictures so I think I'll make this post mostly picturs, but I'll say a few things first.
Yesterday was also our first trip to church as a family of three. Rick and I had fun dressing Owen up in his fancy clothes. It was really fun to show him off to everyone in the ward and REALLY fun to be out and about. I've made maybe two trips to the store in the past month - talk about cabin fever!
Owen's new tricks include sticking his tongue out, spitting up after every feeding instead of just occassionaly, and last night he ate every 4 1/2 hours!! I REALLY hope that becomes a habit of his. It was so incredible to get solid 3 hours of sleep at a time.
Without further ado, here are pictures of my handsome boy.

3 Weeks
Owen is almost a month old! I can hardly believe it. He just gets cuter and cuter every day. His new tricks include spitting up and sleeping for 3 hours at a time at night. He is also awake and alert for a few hours everyday now. We also enjoy an occasional "fake" smile and look forward to him learning how to laugh.
His hair is growing in more and if you look closely in the pictures, you'll see that it sticks straight up on the back/top of his head - ADORABLE! I'm a bit nervous that he might have inherited my crazy baby hair. (For those of you who don't know, when I was little my hair stuck straight up all over my head. It stuck out so much that people would ask me if I got struck by lightening or if I'd stuck my finger in a socket - yes, people actually asked me that.) Anyway, we are continually entertained and curious to watch our baby grow. More to come...
His favorite face. We've named it "Zoolander'.
Precious (Notice the hair sticking straight up)
His favorite pose. He loves to stretch his arms above his head.

2 weeks old
I can't believe that my baby is 2 weeks old already! The time has flown by so quickly. A special thanks goes out to our famiIies and friends who have helped us transition to parenthood by cooking meals, cleaning our house, or entertaining Owen. We really appreciate all you've done for us.
I am doing well and am able to move around a lot easier these days. I haven't had pain meds for 5 days - quite an accomplishment.
Word to the wise: If you ever have a c-section, insist that your doctor give you a belly band. Without that band around my stomach to give support to the incision site I would not have been able to recover so quickly. It made all the difference in the world!
We don't sleep much these days... well, I take that back. Owen sleeps all of the time. Rick gets a decent amount...Let me rephrase. I don't sleep much these days. Although I have to give a special thanks to Rick. Last night I was absolutely exhausted when he came home from school. Rick took over Owen duty for about 5 hours so I could sleep. I was only awaken when Owen was hungry. I think I got a good 3 hours straight - It was wonderful! Owen is an eager eater and really isn't on a set schedule. Some days he demands to be fed every 3-4 hours, and some days it's every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. But it's worth the sleepless nights to finally have my baby here.
We went to the doctor today and Owen is now 7 lbs. 4 oz. - not quite his birthweight, but getting there. He'd lost almost a pound initially and has been slowly gaining it back. We can't wait for him to fit into all of his newborn sized clothes; some are still a little big on him.
Here are some more pictures. We just can't get enough of our little guy. We're really surprised at how light his hair is getting (see pics below). He's also becoming more vocal with adorable sighs, whimpers and coos. :)
Taking a Rest...
First time in the stroller... We happened to capture a gassy smile. :)

Getting ready for bed
Uh-oh... does this mean he's going to start giving me attitude??
He's practicing his Presidential acceptance speech.
Contentment :)
