It's the Great Pumpkin...

This afternoon we decided to take Owen to the pumpkin patch.  He is seriously obsessed with pumpkins.  One of his favorite things to watch is an episode of "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" called, "Song for a Pumpkin".  The entire 15 minutes is about making up a theme song for Rabbit's pumpkin.  We didn't realize just how much Owen loved pumpkins until October rolled around. The pumpkins started appearing and he started pointing and talking about each and every one he saw.

So naturally, wanting to make Owen happy, we took him to the pumpkin patch.  I think he was more excited to be there then he was to be at Disneyland.  He didn't care about the rides - he just wanted to be among the pumpkins.  We'll definitely be going back before the season is over.

Disneyland Fun

Yesterday we celebrated my birthday with a day at Disneyland!  We had a blast!  Thanks to Hannah for signing us in and thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Araiza (and the rest of the fam) for watching Owen for a few hours so that we could go on some "big kid" rides.  :)

The best part of the day was watching Owen experience the rides and shows.  It was so fun to see the excitement in his face as he saw Mickey Mouse and the other characters.  He was quite the trooper and lasted all day and well into the night.  Here are a few pics from the day.

13 months and counting

We fall in love with this little guy more and more each day.  Here is "the latest" about Owen.

Loves:  his blanket, "Tigger and Pooh" tv show, being outside

Likes: Birds, airplanes, balls, cats, dogs, "reading" books, playing at the park, bath time, foods that are orange, yellow, red, white or brown

Dislikes: any food that is green (except avocado), being in his highchair too long, teething

As you can (sort of) see, the tooth fairy has visited us several times in the last 2 months.

Owen is really trying to communicate with us now and points at EVERYTHING while "talking" to us.

At any given time, the floor of Owen's room is littered with books.  His latest hobby is to go to his room and look through all of his books.  He turns the pages over and over again.  He will occasionally stop on a page, point to the picture, and start jabbering away.  We can't wait until we can understand what he's  actually saying.

*Sigh*.  Be still my heart.
