In. Love.

I waited 2 LONG, crowded hours in the wee hours of the night/morning at Wal-Mart to get this beauty.
That is what I call love.
I know we have many beautiful years together ahead of us.
Welcome to the family.

Super Cute

As many of you may know, my little hobby Busy Books for Busy Bodies is going to be featured at a little boutique in a few weeks.  I am trying to get everything ready and although it's a lot of work, it is SO much fun!  I just had to share a few pictures of things that I've been working on.

This is a "Noah's Ark" activity mat, one of a few different themes I'm working on.

These are the fabrics I just got to make carrying cases for the activity mats.  I am completely IN LOVE with these fabrics - especially the pirate and alien prints!  It's so hard to find cute fabrics for boys PERIOD, but especially ones that aren't too baby-ish.  I just might have to make Owen another blanket out of one of them cause they are so darn cute.

I can't wait to get everything finalized and ready to make their debut!  :)

Quiet Book

Owen is quite the busy boy these days and I'm finding it harder and harder to keep him entertained during church.  I remember my mom having a quiet book for us, and so I started a search to find one of my own.  Unfortunately, they don't really make them anymore and the ones that I did find for sale were not that cute.

So.......... I decided to make one myself.

I did a lot of web searching for inspiration from other homemade quiet books, and then went to Michael's to gather some supplies.  These are the pages I have worked on so far.  They aren't complete yet, but they're getting there.

"Down on the Farm"  - The barn door is a pocket to hold the finger puppets.

"Blast Off!" page - Since Owen is really into Toy Story right now, I made a Buzz Lightyear inspired rocket ship that can slide across the ribbon to go to the moon.

"Under the Sea" page - The fish can be moved around with velcro, and the dolphins slide across the string.

Once I get everything figured out, I'm thinking about maybe trying to sell quiet books.  There seems to be a need since no one really does them anymore.  What do you think?

She's Crafty

For Easter Sunday at my in-laws, we have an Egg Auction.  We hide hundreds of plastic eggs and everybody finds as many as they can.  Then, we use the eggs as money for a live auction.  This year I was assigned to fill three of these with some goodies.

Now, don't get me wrong, these buckets are lovely just the way they are.  But I couldn't help but think they could use a little sprucing up.  So, 4 sheets of scrapbooking paper, lots of modge podge, a few buttons, some twine, a hot glue gun and one napping baby later (well actually it took 2 naps to get it all done), I had these little beauties.

Perfect for spring, don't you think?
