Easter

This year we spent Easter in Carlsbad with members of my family who were around.  We had a great time!!  We had our big Easter dinner on Saturday and I loved doing it that way.  It made Sunday much more relaxed and we could just enjoy the day and go to church without trying to cook a huge meal.

Lynnlee was very kind to share her lollipops with Owen and Lexie.

Poor, Lynnlee.... Lexie kept stealing all of her fruit snacks!!  She was a good sport.  Thanks, Lynnlee.

Lynnlee also had a very cool doll stroller that Lexie wanted to push around.  Lexie had a cool shopping cart that Lynnlee wanted to push around.  I think they came up with a good compromise.

And special thanks to Grandma Loretta for Lexie's adorable Easter dress.♥

Easter 2012

We had a very happy Owen on Easter morning. I let him sleep in so we were very late for church, but we had a late night on Saturday and I really wanted him to enjoy his day. It was worth it because Owen woke up happy and told me that when he went to Primary [at church] that he would not be sad. He went to Primary with no tears whatsoever and had an awesome time. I asked him what he learned about in his class. He told me, "I learned about Jesus and how he died." So sweet that boy of mine is. He's also recently gotten over his shyness about praying at home and volunteers for almost every prayer. More on that later...

Owen loves to read a book called, "Owen's Marshmallow Chick". In it, a mouse named Owen gets jelly beans, a chocolate bunny, buttercream eggs, and a yellow marshmallow chick from the Easter bunny. OUR Owen decided he wanted those same things in his basket.  The Easter Bunny did not disappoint.

Here is he all bright eyed and bushy tailed...

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was GREAT.  On Saturday we had a big Easter dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Stephens' house.  We dyed eggs and even the Easter bunny made an early visit!

On Sunday we went to church and then to Grandma and Grandpa Araiza's house.  We had another big dinner, an egg hunt, and of course, got lots of fun stuff from the live auction!

While all those things were so fun, we also took time to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Without His sacrifice in the Garden of Gesthemane and ultimately giving His life on the cross, we would all be lost.  I am so thankful that I can repent and try to be better each day.  I am so thankful for the Resurrection so that one day, I too, can conquer death.   I am so thankful that one day, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ.
